I am Chris Johnson, and I write adventures in speculative settings: a little bit of sci-fi, a little bit of fantasy, with a dash of quirky humour. Throughout this blog, I'm going to share with you bits and pieces about upcoming books -- and if you join my newsletter, you'll see things that even casual visitors to my site and blog will miss. You're going to come across things I may see or hear that inspire my writing, and so much more.
Brisbane, Australia, is my home. Near where I live is a lovely lake inhabited by turtles, catfish, all sorts of bird life, and even a dragon. You might be lucky enough to see it rise from its waters with a hefty splash. Occasionally, I'll walk around it to clear my head so that my ideas can flow onto the pages others read.
I’ve lived and travelled to different places, had lots of my own adventures, and tend to include some of those gems in my writing. You see, I work as a magician and mentalist at special events. During that time, I have met and known a lot of interesting people, including politicians, business leaders, top speakers, and even other entertainers. Some of them have found their ways into my pages disguised as the characters.
